What do Kylie, Emma, Justin or Felix Kjellberg have in common?
Being a celebrity: a dream or a nightmare?
The most of us have
probably thought about the idea to have a role in a movie, to have the best
sold album of the year or to be the best-selling author of all time and thus
also to be a star (to be famous). But what are the advantages and the
disadvantages of such a life?
The advantage
When I’m thinking of “celebrity”, money comes first up my mind. Money plays
a big reason for many people to become a star or to start thinking of getting famous.
In addition to the money they get friends and fans, who are supporting them, as
well a big opportunity to achieve something big. For example to have influence
and to use his or her fame wisely, like to tell their fans to donate to some
important charities or to draw attention to social problems. The most want a
better life, because all the time we are getting informed by the news, now a
days more and more by snapchat or YouTube, that a famous personality has bought
a new villa or she or her has flown to a beautiful island. In addition the most
of us normal people are jealous. As I said many stars couldn’t been stars
without their fans, who are supporting them in every possible way and, what a
surprise, they are young and have problems. Stars could and do help their young
followers by telling them the right truth. For example I’ve heard of a young prominent
figure who told there fans that they don’t have to get operated neither have to
change themselves for other people. I find that very important!
The disadvantage
Let’s face it, to be a famous personality is hard. And we all can
imagine why. It is a full time job. Of course you can have some holidays in the carbic,
but you won't be alone, because of the paparazzi and the probably two millions
news reader. Furthermore the voluntary fulltime job affects your personal life
and could cost a lot of damage. For instance if you have children, they can be
controlled 24 hours a day. That can be stressful. In addition you are getting
stressed as well, because you have to furnish performance. You have to be in
the best movie, to compose the best song or to write the best book. The
pressure is high because, I think you can say, everyone is watching you and are
listening what you are saying. In the beginning I wrote that you get plenty of
friends and you know that 95% of them are fake friends. In this business you
can’t trust everyone.
To sum up
I think there are plenty of pros and cons for being a celebrity. I wrote some down and understood, that if you are willing to life such a life it can be a dream, but it can go the wrong side. If you are a person, who is born to be a famous personality and thought about everything what could happen and what you have to do, it is definitely a perfect dream.
